Version 0.3 was quite a challenge. I learned a lot more about Behaviour Trees and how AI works in UE5, while trying to create the new enemy type which I call the Grabber. The grabber grabs you.
I think the Fibonacci sequence used for the required kills gets a bit too hard too quickly. I'd love to hear about any other mathematical sequences that are a bit less of a challenge, somewhat more of a gradual and fun slope.
I also learned how to import CSV files into UE5. This combines my greatest past love (spreadsheets) with my new love (game development). This is extremely exciting. My excitement is palpable. Can you feel it palpabating?
Gameplay:
- Added new enemy - Grabber.
- Removed centre islands for faster paced play
Visuals:
- Removed health bars for better visibility
- Changed camera FOV
- Added transparency effect when player is in front of solid objects
Misc:
- Improved the Spawner to have weighted probability of spawning per round
